Platelet-rich plasma is similar to platelet-rich plasma plus hyaluronic acid for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis at 2 years: a randomized controlled trial (2023)

The objective was to compare PRP injections alone to PRP + HA injections for knee osteoarthritis. There was significant improvement in pain and function scores for both groups that lasted up to 24 months, but no significant differences between the groups. The authors conclude that adding HA to PRP injections does not improve outcomes compared to PRP alone for knee osteoarthritis treatment.
