The Frequency of Low Scores on ImPACT in Adolescent Student-Athletes: Stratification by Race and Socioeconomic Status Using Multivariate Base Rates (2022)

This cross-sectional study examined computerized concussion testing to determine if various patient populations have differing rates of abnormal test results at baseline (i.e., pre-injury). The results suggest that Black student-athletes and student-athletes of lower socioeconomic status (SES) are more likely to have at least 1 low score on baseline testing. Thus, it is important to consider several factors when interpreting test results.
